I’m Kevin Marks.

I explore themes of randomness, order, and emergence — how simple patterns, when nudged by chance, can evolve into something unexpectedly beautiful.

I do this primarily through generative art — an artistic practice in building algorithms that produce visual outputs. The artist cedes certain aesthetic control to chance, resulting in surprising, chaotic, and (hopefully!) beautiful results.

(For a more comprehensive primer on generative art, Tyler Hobbs’ essays are a great resource.)

While many generative artists have embraced NFTs as a natural platform for their work, I don’t spend too much time translating my art onto the blockchain. For now, I’m excited to continue discovering new sources of beauty through algorithms and randomness, utilizing technology in a way that allows me to do that to the fullest.
